The debate about quality versus quantity occurs in a variety of settings: Is twenty pages better than ten for a term paper? Is an all-you-can-eat buffet preferable to a gourmet meal? Is a huge lawn more desirable than a small yard? As a society, we tend to value the quantity of productivity to determine how successful a person is. Focusing on the amount produced, however, is based on the false assumption that quantity by itself is an appropriate judge of worth. In fact, the quality of a product is far more important, as we can see by looking at examples from current events and literature.

在E選項(xiàng)中，so作為連詞，前面不應(yīng)該再加上分號，而且so后面不是一個完整的句子，把becoming改為became才是句子。

Many people are content to go through life following the crowd. They will themselves believe in ideas that society says is right, even when they know in their heart it is wrong. A hero is one who is willing to give up his position in society in order to tell people what he believes is right.

這里的they顯然是指一般的人，即漢語中的“大家”，在普通文法里這樣說是一點(diǎn)問題都沒有的。但SAT不能接受，必須把they改成people。SAT認(rèn)為，代詞所指代的對象必須是在句子中出現(xiàn)過的名詞，不能讓讀者去猜想這個代詞應(yīng)該指代誰，哪怕這種猜想非常簡單。

SAT傾向使用標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的書面體語言，不接受口語化或非正式文體的表達(dá)。如hopefully就被認(rèn)為是口語化的詞，正式的書面語中，要說I hope或she hopes等等。

首先排除A、B和C，因?yàn)樵赨nited States前是介詞in，所以在Europe or Asian前也必須是個介詞in，以構(gòu)成平行。
