在比較結(jié)構(gòu)的第二部分中，主語后面常要補一個助動詞，以使比較對象更加清楚。試比較以下兩個句子的不同之處。

8．third degree 逼供；拷問

在美國，警察過去常常對無權(quán)無勢的普通人使用刑訊逼供。人們遂借（the）third degree喻指（警察的）疲勞詢問（或逼供），同時還把“逮捕”和“入獄”分別婉稱為the first degree（第一級）和the second degree（第二級）。third degree常和動詞get/give連用,作get the third degree和give someone a/the degree。
